"A Tree to Set Them Free" Project

AU's Office of Development launched the "Tree to Set Them Free” initiative in 2017. The remarkable program honors two precious resources firmly rooted on campus -- alumni and trees. AU community members can "purchase" a tree on AU grounds in honor of loved ones. The funds generated from their donation, in turn, support alumni who have not yet been able to receive their diplomas due to debt. Thanks to this unique and sustainable program, more than 300 alumni have been liberated from their outstanding dues and more than 100 trees have been honored and protected.
