Mobile Dental Clinic

Since 2018, AU rolled out a high-tech mobile clinic to deliver care to the doorsteps of underserved populations, especially the elderly and those who are unable to travel due to injury, illness or mobility issues. The clinic regularly provides services to improve public health while eliminating the need for many people to commute for care.

The modern mobile dental clinic includes two built-in dental units, a wheelchair carrier lift, an X-ray machine and a sterilization device. The AU dental team comprises several volunteers from alumni, resident dentists and student trainees who have been thoroughly trained and prepared for the fieldwork on the importance of oral hygiene.

The sleek dental clinic features wheelchair access and is equipped with the latest tools for state-of-the-art patient care. Two fully-equipped units on board – both of which meet international regulations – can accommodate up to 40 patients daily.
