Electric Vehicle Chargers

Ajman University has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainability by partnering with Etisalat E&A to install Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers on campus. This initiative aligns with the university's commitment to environmental responsibility and supports UN Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Clean Energy) and 13 (Climate Action).

As the first educational institution in the region to install two Super Chargers, Ajman University is enhancing accessibility to EV charging for its faculty, students, and visitors. The strategically located chargers on the female side of campus eliminate the need for long-distance charging, offering convenience and cost-effective alternatives to traditional fuel sources.

By providing accessible and efficient charging infrastructure, the university is directly contributing to the adoption of electric vehicles, which offer numerous environmental benefits:

• Reduced Carbon Emissions: EVs produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, helping to mitigate climate change.
• Improved Air Quality: EVs emit fewer pollutants, leading to cleaner air and better health outcomes for the community.
• Energy Efficiency: Electric motors are generally more efficient than internal combustion engines, resulting in lower energy consumption.
• Reduced Noise Pollution: EVs operate quieter than gasoline-powered vehicles, contributing to a more peaceful environment.

This project, which is showcased at GITEX Global, highlights Ajman University's leadership in green technology and its dedication to reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality. By empowering the next generation of leaders with a sustainability-first mindset, the university is contributing to a cleaner and greener future for all.
