In a recent initiative, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with BLUEGREEN consultancy, delivered the "Ajman Sustainability Program: Driving Sustainable Business, CSR and ESG Training." The program aimed to equip local businesses with the knowledge and tools to implement sustainable practices and contribute to the emirate's overall sustainability goals.
Ajman University actively participated in the program, with members of the Office of Sustainability attending the training. This participation reflects the university's commitment to sustainability and its role in supporting local businesses in achieving their environmental and social goals.
The training covered a comprehensive range of topics, including best practices in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability, designing impactful social initiatives, understanding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fostering strategic and design thinking for problem-solving and innovation.
The program was met with positive feedback from participants. Lina Hourani and Ashraf Tawakkol, the program's mentors, were praised for delivering an insightful and interactive learning experience. Participants also acknowledged the valuable contributions of their colleagues, Maya Haddad, Ikram Abdu and Rami Elhadi from the Office of Sustainability, who actively participated in the program.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of the Ajman Chamber, BLUEGREEN consultancy, and local businesses to work together with various stakeholders in Ajman. By developing and implementing successful and sustainable initiatives, they aim to create a positive impact on the community and environment.
