Ajman University, through its Office of Sustainability, had the honor of participating in the High-Level Meeting on the Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Resilience, hosted by UNESCO during COP29 on 18 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. This distinguished event convened ministers, thought leaders, and educational institutions to explore the critical role of education in fortifying climate resilience.
At the meeting, Ajman University’s representatives emphasized the university’s strategic efforts to integrate climate literacy, sustainability curricula, and student-driven environmental action. Our presence underscored the institution’s ambition not just to observe global discourse, but to contribute meaningfully to it, positioning Ajman University as a thought leader in higher-education sustainability across the UAE and region.
By participating in COP29’s high-level dialogues, Ajman University further cements its role as a proactive voice for sustainable development and educational innovation. The Office of Sustainability remains committed to steering institutional change that echoes the global movement toward climate-smart and resilient education systems.
