Ajman University Participates in Government Practices Seminar, Highlighting Climate Action Consultations
Ajman University participated in the highly anticipated "Government Practices Seminar" (لقاء الممارسات الحكومية), held under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. Organized by the Ajman Excellence Program under the theme "Governments Make Beauty," the event took place on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at Saray Hotel in Ajman.
The seminar brought together elite leaders, decision-makers, experts, and academics from various government and private entities to exchange knowledge, showcase pioneering practices, and explore innovative strategies for institutional excellence. The event was structured around four main pillars: government leadership and its impact on the quality of life, creativity and innovation, environment and sustainability, and institutional agility.
Representing Ajman University, a delegation from the Office of Sustainability, including Maya Haddad, Senior Sustainability Manager, actively participated in the event. The university's involvement underscored its commitment to bridging academic expertise with government initiatives to advance sustainable development and institutional excellence.
A key highlight of Ajman University’s participation was its engagement in the dedicated climate action session consultations. Within the seminar’s "Environment and Sustainability" track, participants explored actionable strategies for advancing climate resilience, environmental stewardship, and green practices across government and private sectors. The consultations provided a vital platform for stakeholders to align their efforts with the UAE’s Net Zero targets and the broader objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
"Participating in this distinguished seminar reflects our shared vision of integrating sustainability into the fabric of government work," said Maya Haddad. "The climate action consultations were particularly impactful, allowing us to share our academic and operational insights while learning from the remarkable achievements of various entities. Events like these are essential for fostering the collaborations needed to drive real, systemic change."
The seminar also aimed to embed the culture of "Governments Make Beauty" by showcasing success stories, building effective partnerships, and spotlighting modern initiatives linked to the nation’s vision. By participating in these critical discussions, Ajman University continues to reinforce its role as a key partner in the region's sustainability journey, demonstrating how academia and government can collectively enhance the quality of life and achieve the highest levels of excellence.
