A group of Ajman University students has successfully completed the "Sustainability & Green Entrepreneurship" course, a free, self-paced online program offered by INJAZ UAE in collaboration with Dow. The achievement marks another milestone in Ajman University's ongoing efforts to advance sustainability education and empower students as future climate leaders.
The course, which was promoted by Ajman University's Office of Sustainability, provided students with a dynamic learning journey into the core principles of sustainability. Participants gained insights into the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), explored the "Five P's" of Sustainable Development People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership, and understood the history of international sustainability efforts.
Students also delved into critical topics such as the Circular Economy and Sustainable Innovation, equipping them with in-demand knowledge and skills that are increasingly attractive to employers in today's rapidly evolving green economy.
The program's self-paced format allowed students to balance their academic commitments while gaining valuable expertise. Upon completion, participants received an official Certificate of Completion from INJAZ UAE, recognizing their achievement and enhancing their professional credentials.
The Office of Sustainability encouraged students to submit their certificates for official recognition, further demonstrating Ajman University's commitment to tracking and celebrating student sustainability achievements.
The INJAZ course participation reflects Ajman University's broader institutional commitment to embedding sustainability across every facet of university life. The university has consistently ranked among the world's top universities for climate action and partnerships, achieving #1 in the UAE for SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026.
Through initiatives such as the QS Reimagine Education Award-winning "Greening Communities: Mangrove Planting Project" and its active co-leadership of the UAE Universities Climate Network (UCN), Ajman University continues to demonstrate that higher education institutions can be powerful catalysts for sustainable development.
The collaboration with INJAZ UAE and Dow reflects a shared vision of preparing the next generation of leaders to address the defining challenge of our time. By equipping students with sustainability competencies, systems thinking, futures thinking, values thinking, strategic thinking, and action-oriented problem solving the program helps learners develop the capacity to drive positive change in their careers and communities.
The Office of Sustainability congratulates all participating students on their achievement and encourages more students to take advantage of similar opportunities to build their knowledge and contribute to a sustainable future.
